IBM Rational Unified Process is a robust iterative software development methodology. The main goal of master´s thesis is to describe the aspects of this methodology and to analyze and design a fictional information system within the scope of "inception" and "elaboration" phase.
Translation of sociological texts with a commentary.

The aim of this thesis is the translation and analysis of a scientific text in the field of sociology. The theoretical part of the thesis outlines the basic concepts of translation theory, the role of the translator, translation types and methods that are important for the production of a translation. Last but not least, the characteristic features of professional style in the source language (German) and, contrastively, in the target language (Czech) are examined. The practical part consists mainly of the actual translation of a longer text in the field of sociology, which has not yet been published in Czech, and an analysis of the translation, which points out various problems in translation work with specialized language, comments on problematic areas from the perspective of lexical and morphosyntactic level and suggests various ways of solving them. The work also includes a German-Czech glossary consisting of professional sociological terms and expressions that are central for the text.

The aim of this bachelor thesis is a comparison of the Czech and French law on collective bargaining with an emphasis on the right to strike and analysis of the relevant French legal terminology with a glossary. The content of this bachelor thesis consists of an introduction to labour law, basic sources about the topic and overall structure of both rules of law. Thereafter the thesis is dealing with the legislation of collective bargaining in more detail. Last but not least it is covering the right to strike. The conclusion is made of comparison of legislation of collective bargaining with an emphasis on strike in both rules of law and evaluation of the range of their differences. In the very end of this bachelor thesis, a French-Czech glossary is present.

EU linguistic regime in practise: comparison of availability of documents in Czech, French and English language on the website of the Translation Centre for the bodies of the EU

The topic of this bachelor thesis is the EU linguistic regime in practice: comparison of availability of documents in Czech, French and English languages on the website of the CdT. (Translation Centre for the Bodies of the European Union) The theoretical part describes the institutional system of the European Union and the position of the CdT in it. Afterwards, it concentrates on the Translation Centre for the Bodies of the European Union in terms of its history, formation and operation. The practical part is based on the analysis of the website structure of the Translation Centre for the Bodies of the European Union and subsequently on the comparison of the availability of documents in Czech, French and English languages. This analysis is then evaluated in the conclusion. In the complete conclusion of the practical part, a trilingual glossary of terms related to translation is drawn up.

The topic of this bachelor thesis is the EU linguistic regime in practice: comparison of availability of documents in Czech, French and English language on the website of the OLAF. (European Anti-Fraud Office) The theoretical part describes the institutional system of the European Union and the location of OLAF in this system. Afterwards, introduces the development of international judicial cooperation and, in connection with that, the formation and functioning of the agency OLAF, which is focused on the protection of financial interests of the EU. Last chapters of the theoretical part are aimed at the issue of multilingualism of the European Union. First of all, the practical part deals with an analysis of the structure of OLAF´s website. After that, it analyses and compares the availability of documents in English, Czech and French language on the above-mentioned website. The results of analysis are finally evaluated in conclusion. At the very end of the practical part, a three-language glossary of terms related to the issue of the protection of the EU´s financial interests, was drawn up.

Mgr. Kateřina Voleková Česká lexikografie 15. století Czech Lexicography of the 15th Century Abstract The thesis deals with Czech medieval lexicography. Based on research into rich manuscript material totalling over 350 items, it describes the development of Czech lexicography from Czech glosses in foreign-language texts and first Latin-Czech glossaries to the flourishing Czech lexicography of the 15th century covering both Latin-Czech, Czech-Latin and multilingual lexicographical works and also infrequently attested Czech monolingual dictionaries. The high number of lexicographical works is divided according to formal and content criteria. With respect to form and macrostructure we discern Czech glosses in Latin and Latin-German glossaries, a bilingual glossaries with Czech as one of the languages, alphabetaries and nomenclators and glossaries lacking an ordering criterion. With respect to the content we distinguish large dictionaries covering as many lexical items as possible on one hand and short glossaries covering only a narrowly delimited part of vocabulary on the other hand. The lexicographical works are supplied with a short description which is in case of short and yet unedited works complemented by an edition using transcription.
